I'm sure we've all heard about California's Proposition 8 being overturned by the courts. The Defendants of this case did a really good job with ensuring that footage of the case would not be aired or distributed.
Thankfully, however, the contents of this case were turned into a play that was broadcast live on YouTube this past Saturday. Who was in the play? Oh, just some little-known actors and actresses that include the likes of:
Brad Pitt
George Clooney
Jamie Lee Curtis
Christine Lahti
Matthew Morrison (Glee)
Matt Bomer (Chuck)
Chris Colfer (Glee)
Jane Lynch (Glee)
Kevin Bacon
George Takei (Star Trek)
John C. Riley
Jesse Tyler Ferguson (Modern Family)
Yeardley Smith (voice of Lisa Simpson)
Campbell Brown
and many more...
You can watch the play here:
Here's the link if the video doesn't show up: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qlUG8F9uVgM
I personally loved it! I thought it was going to be boring because it's a play that is exclusively in the courtroom, but it is a very entertaining and emotional play. I teared up a few times, especially with Christine Lahti's character. It's so touching that so many A-listers are on board to make such a bold statement about marriage inequality.
Has anyone else here seen this? Heard of this?
