Aaron Tveit will be starring in a version of GREASE, that will be broadcast live on the U.S. TV network Fox in January.

^ Oh Lord, if this is what "Grease Live" looks like, I dread "Rocky Horror Live"...

^ Not to defend this at all but weren't most of the actors in the original Grease grown as hell when they got their parts? LOL the youngest two were John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John, I think, and at least Travolta was five, six years removed from high school. :D

But yeah this doesn't make sense either.

That said, Aaron himself is cute.

IMBD says Travolta was born in 1954 and that Grease was released in 1978. Assuming the movie was made the year before, he would have been roughly 23 at the time of filming. Aaron Tveit just turned 32.

Maybe they should have cast Nick Jonas, he's 23.

And Drew Van Acker as Sandy. ;)

Recorded it on the DVR and watched the opening. Yeah, he looks like he's 35-40 - way too old for the role.

I disagree that Aaron looks 35-40, more like late 20's to early 30's.

I think that the 1970's John Travolta looks older than Aaron and definitely not high school age. Every version of Grease will likely always have 20/30-something year old actors to be honest. lol I wouldn't say that they necessarily need to cast younger people though. It's better to have more experience. The person just needs to look the part / younger than their age.

I hear you. I was working and recorded it as well. After seeing Summer Nights, I decided it's not worth my time and deleted it.

Don't get me started on Tveit. He is one of the Holy Trinity of young Broadway leading men (Tveit, Jeremy Jordan, and Jonathon Grofff) that move regularly between theater, TV, movies, and concerts.

Here he is last summer doing a set at the Broadway street festival, ElsieFest. Tveit is straight, but very gay friendly and regularly covers songs by female artists without bothering to change any of the pronouns, as he does below in a tounge-in-cheek rendition of We are Never Getting Back Together.

We Go Together from Grease: Live

You have probably seen him on Brain Dead or Gossip Girl on TV, or in the movies Les Miserables or Howl as James Franco's lover.

As for Grease:Live, I thought it was one of the most knock-out productions I've ever seen on TV. Take a look at the finale below. They did this on live TV in the rain, people.

Aaron Tveit covers Justin Beiber and Taylor Swift

That boy needs me as his lover. Alas, I shall have to stare at the beauty from afar.

OK. Just to tease you a little bit, I will put one more video out here for you.

Aaron Tveit and Gavin Creel show that opposites attract, but not without causing a few problems, doing Take Me or Leave Me from Rent.

This is from a benefit show from last April that is held annually in New York called Miscast. They invite current Broadway stars to come in a do a song from a role they would never actually be able to do. Enjoy Aaron and Gavin Creel (who I saw very sexy and wet in Hair)!
