What worries me more that the virus is the stupid reactions from people... I have a neighbour who fitted out a room like an intensive care room in a hospital, complete with artificial respiration and a whole pile of medicine (He is a retired Navy doctor) ONLY for him and his wife...
The stock piling is also annoying, as it eventually forces other to do the same. If you cannot be sure when you can next buy bog roll, then you are tempted to buy it when you see it.
We are creating a situation as in the old Soviet block, only slowly but surely, public order is crumbling. It makes you realise just how thin a veneer "civilisation" really is.
I'm thinking about the title of a Rainer Werner Fassbinder movie from 1974
Angst essen Seele auf, something like "Anxiety eats souls" in English.
I've seen a few example of behavior in my own home town of the sort I can't describe as anything but nutbag - like the stock piling of toilet paper X_X
Since there's absolutely nothing indicating that there's any decrease in the production of toilet paper, it's just pure WACKO!
On the other hand, most people I meet are their usual friendly reasonable selves - in particular my beloved GH friends!!! It means so much to get a PM asking the simple question: "-Hello, how are you today?!"
That's such an emotional relief!!!
