It occurred to me, while pondering the pros and cons of assorted file hosts, that I don't remember the idea of torrents being discussed on the forums (and I did just do a search for "torrents" finding nothing relevant).
I have never explored, for my own uses or otherwise, the costs associated with setting up a torrent tracker (essentially a server which dishes out info about how to connect to clients), but I imagine such a thing could be done on a typical web server just out a different port. The question then is of course "where is the server located" and "what are the laws of that region surrounding file sharing".
Has anyone in the staff/management considered torrents as a distribution method, and possibly creating a subforum for torrent-based content distribution? As I'm sure we all know they have been wildly successful in the other areas of distribution online.
