Can someone inform a thickie like me if apps are just for phones or can they be used on computers?
I was looking at one for Google earth and wondered if it could install it on my computer.Thanks in advance for your imputs.

google earth can be install on both PC and Android Phone..

But the file for PC is Google earth exe.. however on phone its called Google earth apk file..

In general, any particular app will only work on one platform. A Windows app will only work on Windows, an iOS app will only work on iPhones/iPads/iPod Touches, a Mac app will only work on a Mac etc..

However, there are many pieces of software that are released in multiple versions. So you can get a Mac, Windows, Linux, iOS, and Android version of Google Earth. They are all different apps, and all work slightly differently, but they all do the same thing, show you the earth from above.
