Are cockrings dangerous?

Because I read that you can't use them for more than 30 minutes or you're at risk of some horrendous situations. I want to buy one but now I'm scared! What has been your experience?

I'm no expert on the matter, but since they work by hindering blood flow, I've always been wary of them. I guess how tight they are matters too slowing the blood a little is prob no harm, but slowing it too much strikes me as very dangerous. Again, I'm no doctor, but I think common sense applies.

a real cockring of brass or steel or aluminum is not too bad so long as it doesn't squeeze a guy's dick so tight that total blood flow is cut off.
