Nostalgia is one of the natural emotions of the human kind. Can be more or less intense. is subjective, some I can not try it. Maturing with age and maybe you can manage to repress, but it is not for everyone.

For me it's nice to get excited for something beautiful or natural (such as a gesture of affection)

There are books that deserve to be read back.
You have to discover, that during the first reading has been neglected something.

You have to discover, that during the first reading has been neglected something.

Maybe I have an incorrect idea about understanding nostalgia, but for me it has an aspect of wishing to go back in time. And I do absolutely not have the wish to go back in time or do things over again. I cherish my memories and whenever possible I pick flowers from them to reach to others. I was able to convince my children that it is far more fun to create something than buying it in a shop. Both my boys are able to dismantle and rebuild a car and overhaul its engine. Not out of profession, but because of the joy it gives. Because of my kids I do have an intense contact with youngsters. When we discuss politics I am able to let them learn from history (that part that was part of my life). But they are able to teach me lessons, to help me understand modern life. Not that I feel the need to share all their blessings, so for me no mobile phone, Pads or Pods or navigation systems, but an old fashioned telephone with a turntable and secured to the system by a wire, the good old newspaper and those silly maps that are impossible to fold back into its origin.
I never go to reunions. There is the possibility that they could destroy my memories. A person who I have in my mind as a very nice person could have been developed into a nasty person. Actually I don’t feel the need to know that.
