Atlanta Pride

Did anyone here attend the Atlanta Pride event this year? I was there (today I was recognizable by a blue sweater and the rainbow flag I wore as a cape) and think they outdid themselves. I was surprised at the reduced amount of visible skin and just loved how many people brought their kids and their pets. Yesterday there were some protesters yelling about how god has copious amount of disdain for "us" but they were ran out pretty quick. Also, the Atlanta Police marched in the parade and I cracked up at the thought of telling the cops to go F themselves and it maybe happening (I didn't realize how hot some of our cops were btw).

I used to live in Atlanta but I never went to Pride.

2013 was a very fine year to be at pride. Tons of animals, many beautiful vintage cars and so many kids (even from straight couples; I was really blown away by all the straight families partaking in the event!) made this a wholesome event. On top of that, I'm glad to see that there are so many other inter-racial couples in this city. I'm proud to be the icing on my chocolate and I'm glad there's more of us!

I went to Atlanta for Pride weekend and it was awesome! Yeah, I saw the protesters at the parade and the fair, they didnt bother me. As they say, if you want to make enemies, change something. And we are changing the world by celebrating our lives! There were so many events that went on Friday and Saturday night, I met Lady Bunny! Had a blast, and was happy to see the area being supportive, I just don't know how the area normally is when it isn't Pride weekend.

Atlanta has been described as very metro-sexual but I'm not sure if that's a very P.C. word or not.
