Autobahn?

Who has driven it? (Like duh I know at least one person who has) But is it all that? Can you truly drive as fast as you want? How many lanes is it? Do you watch out for little ole ladies? Just curious?

never seen it myself, but I have a lot of buddies that were stationed in Germany and they all said the same thing...

The Autobahn isn't all that great. In fact it's one of the worst kept highways in Europe. Fear of your own mortality will limit your speed long before you reach your cars limits. And while there is no speed limit, the police can stop you if they deem you to be driving in an unsafe manner.

Joe - Montana used to have a "no speed limit" law - the highways there aren't crowded so you could easily average 85-90 miles an hour, pass a trooper, and he'd just wave at you. They also had a common sense clause where if you were really driving like a nut (+100 - they could stop you - if they could catch you) It changed a while ago because the government insisted they enact "speed limits" to get highway money.

I vaguely remember hearing that before, Garth. I guess if there was a State with a no limit highway, Montana would definitely fit the bill.

try interstate 80 in Wyoming...sheesh..there should be no speed limit there...its nothing but straight roads with nothing around hahaha good for speed...lol

Try the 465 bypass in Indy, bumper to bumper with a 65 MPH. speed limit, but if your not doing at least 90 they will run your ass over...

but we have the same problem in cincy and in some places we have 4 or 5 lanes and it's sill a problem....but seems we always have someone in the fast lane that drives...50mph~X(X(

It's really bad when your driving an ambulance with the lights and sirens on and semi's are passing you...

I hate where I live.......one high way was been under construction basically since its existence! LMAO. Gotten used to several detours and luckily I go out with friends who know there way around better than I do. I lived here most of my life but never have driven here enough (like downtown areas) to know my way around lol. I lived here in Kansas from like 3-10 then 11-18 in Texas and now 19-present back here in Kansas. Thank god I learned how to drive in Texas because I am a lot more aggressive on the road here then I was there! lol. Its too intimidating there in traffic. It usually took me like 15 minutes from my high school to my house I lived in there maybe more or less depending on traffic, but with one accident one time it took OVER AN HOUR to get home! THAT WAS RECOCKULOUS! lol. Don't miss Houston traffic one bit at all! lol

The Autobahn in Germany is great! It is mostly in a great condition and there are rarely speed limits. But you have to be careful: The Autobahn is nota s straight as a highway in Montana^^ There are some bands.
The left lane is for teh fast cars, the right one for the slow and for trucks. Sometimes it is difficult to find the right one for the own car XD
