Get ready to see the current Doctor- Who, if you're not in the know- in something completely different this fall on BBC 2. Based on Christopher Isherwood's memoir, the Beeb is bringing you CHRISTOPHER AND HIS KIND. The film will invite us into the life of the author of GOODBYE TO BERLIN (read: CABARET) and A SINGLE MAN. The film will also touch on Isherwood's relationship with Don Bachardy (played by Douglas Booth in the film), who was 30 years his junior. The relationship lasted for more than 30 years, until Isherwood's death in 1986.
No word from BBC on an airdate yet, but it's in the the 2010/11 season press reel.
If you can't wait to see the film, you can always pick up a copy of CHRISTOPHER AND HIS KIND or check out the excellent documentary CHRIS AND DON- A LOVE STORY, which is available on DVD.
