Just go to BrandsMart or some other major seller of appliances and take a look at their entertainment section. DLP is kind of dated, quirky and overly complicated. LCD doesn't have the burn in problems of plasma though plasma has better black levels. Go 1080p.

What all will you be using it for?
Will you be hooking it up to your PC?

If you want to watch Blu-Ray movies or play computer games games, then go 1080. Otherwise 720 is perfectly fine for HDTV and standard DVD...

What all will you be hoking up to it?

The more HDMI inputs, the more toys you can add, Blu-Ray, game consoles, computer (some TVs also have a VGA input for the computer), etc...

And the big question...
Plasma, LCD, or LED?

Plasma has the best picture, but uses the most energy and is subject to burning...

LCD, I just don't like... They only last about 5 years with regular use and substantially less time if your playing games with extreme high powered graphics...

LED in my opinion, is the best value. They last longer than both LCD and plasma, use less energy, and the picture quality on some better models is almost as good as plasma. The super slim "edge lit" TVs are cool to look at, but the thicker "back lit" models have a brighter picture...

Well Hello All, I did buy a new tv for my bedroom were i spend most of my time at ... I have a old school dlp in the living room that I liked at once but not so much now .. We watch it when there`s guest over I live with a roommate...

any way i got 32inch , ledtv a off brand with 3 hdmi ports , its 720p , i hook up a directv dvr, dvd player , & roku i dont own a bluray or a any gaming machine ... I like the tv the price was really cheap i brought a new stand as well thats ok .. the picture is great the sound is good I cant turn it up too loud , loud sounds hurt my head (a old school ear issue from childhood) ...

I know pisma tvs are really hot in the back this is very cold so thats great and its a glass screen why glass i dont know just thought it would be the better choice....

I don't know for you but I have a BENQ HD projector, cost about the same, it's connected to a media server that runs 24/7 with a crazy surround sound system and it cost about the same price but last over 10 years... the TV you'll buy will die or the sound will fade within 3 years.;) The projector yes the bulb is is expensive when it blows, but don't believe it when it says you only have 4000 hours left, mine has been saying that for the last year and half  It's like a Microsoft software when you transfer a file from one hard drive to another it says 30 minutes and you've been waiting 2 hours  (well if that's the case I'd strongly suggest to purchase a new hard drive, that one will die soon)

Well..call me old-school, but I am not a fan of the plasma TVs. I prefer the older TV models because they are more authentic. The majority of my family own plasma TVs and they have shared complaints with in regard to them at times being more prone to have problems. Frankly, I would love to own one of those 52" console TVs.
