Boring and Untalented Idol.

It looks pretty silly. Something for adolescent girls to gush over maybe. Don't see what the appeal of AI and clone shows like it are. I've never watched it, but I've looked at a couple of YouTube acts when they got big in pop culture, like the oriental guy who couldn't sing, and that Indian, Sanjaya guy, who also couldn't sing.
Other than that its pretty homogenized singing, mostly the same burn't out pop songs. Mostly forgetable acts.

I find American Idol to be one of the most horrible talent shows on TV at the moment. I have lost a lot of interest in AI and I find the Voice to be far better with more talented singers as opposed to AI. For instance, the few times that I watched AI, I could not watch it all the way through. Furthermore, the final two on this season..are u kidding???...that Scotty guy looks like the guy on the MAD magazines and I can't believe that he made it this far in the competition when they had better singers whom they got rid of and this is what they left with????..AI needs to go off the air in my opinion.

Well, AI is my guilty pleasure. Yeah, it's corny, infuriating and sometimes embarrassing. But sometimes new and interesting talent slips through and it's fun to see them before they get big. David Cook, David Archuleta, Kris Allen, and Adam Lambert have been my favorites. (Hmmm... all guys.. what a surprise. :blushing
That said, this year's two finalists, Scotty and Lauren, leave me cold. Overall there was a lot of talent this year - but quite a few (including our two finalists) are just too young and inexperienced. If they had waited a few years and come in with some musical and life experience, they might become interesting. (Like my favorites mentioned above.)
So, I'll watch the finale this week because I've invested time watching this season, but I may be doing other stuff at the same time.
