Aaaaaand it's flopping.
174,000 copies sold in 7 days days in the United States, as opposed to 411,000 copies sold in 6 days with 'Hold It Against Me' in 2011. 'Womanizer' opened with 280,000 copies (the female record of the time) and 'Gimme More' 179,000 copies in 2006 (big at that time). '3' went 255,000 copies and débuted at No 1 on the Hot 100. To put 174k into proper perspective, it is only No 6 on Hot Digital Songs, with the Top 3 all selling above 300,000 copies (307,000 copies for Lorde's 'Royals', 301,000 copies for Katy Perry's 'Roar', and 301,000 copies for Miley Cyrus's 'Wrecking Ball'), with Perry's album pre-order track at No 4 with 197,000 copies sold.
'Work Bitch' is now No 12 on the Hot 100 due to very decent airplay and good streaming points. It almost dropped out of the Top 30 on iTunes earlier.
Globally, it débuts No 9 on the United World Chart, and now she's tied with The Beatles with 29 global Top 10 hits.
