When I was young (about 1966) it was absolutely not normal to be gay, even in The Netherlands. There were sex shops, and you could watch a film (a celluloid film). Sneaky in the back room. Sitting in a room, together with a film operator, who was running the movie. Things changed. Times changed. And rapidly. We should not judge about other cultures. It's all a matter of time. Yes, I could never understand the weird attitude Japanese have to censoring- on one hand I have some of the most disgusting things you could ever wish to see, especially in the straight sector, I have a pretty strong stomach but some of those even turned me off.

One example I particularly remember is some woman having a mask put over her face shaped like a large funnel and then dozens of guys into it this thing , until she was literally drowning in sperm, then another clip I came across some kind of nude wrestling match and they were fingering women until they came and squirted their juices into the audience, they seem to have absolutely no problem with extreme things like that, but show a bit of cock and the censors go mad blocking out everything with reckless abandon.

Well they can't even do that properly, they don't totally block it out it's just pixilated, so you can still more or less see what's what, so in the end they don't actually achieve any real censoring- all they achieve is spoiling a perfectly good movie.... Really a weird mentality!

When I first saw masked J-films I asked my IT/film guru if it's possible to un-mask a pic or film. He said yes, but you need to know the exact program used and the exact filtering tool used. The chances are slim to none, because the software is industry standard and very expensive. We're not talking photoshop here.
Of course one could make a life's work searching for the exact combination of software program, filter, and filter settings for a particular film. The permutations, while not infinite, are large and daunting. And you'd have to know what you're doing!
