Do you think if you had to you could kill someone?

be it with gunfire or like the end to the movie good son where the mother has to pick her son over the evil child and let him fall to his death.

If it was you vs someone else could you

i think i could if i had to , but its would be hard

definetly not...:| I was thinking about it some years ago..thinking about killing my step father...there were moments when he was working around the house with tools and there it was, the hammer and I was thinking: what if I pick that hammer and smash his head? :| or, he was on the window (we lived at the 2d floor) and I was thinkng: what if I push him? they will all say it was an accident... but that never happened and now I don`t think like this anymore. But, if someone would be evil like in the Evil son... (which one was it? Macaulay Culkin was the evil one? lol) and I am 100% sure it`s pure evil...maybe I would but as you said, it would be VERY difficuly for the soul and mind and everything afterwards...:)

hmmm...if I viewed the person as evil and if i judged it being a protective action for the world...yes...but by proxy only (call Kevin).

Don't think I could kill anyone with my own hands unless it was to protect a loved one, then...no problem.

No! Who knows how you'd react in extreme circumstances but actually planning it & then going through with it then no I couldn't.

We can all talk about getting a sniper rifle and doing away with your boss or whoever, but in practice I doubt many could actually carry it through.

Well, this is a tough one, lol

The truth is EVERYONE is capable of killing, and anyone who claims they aren't is a liar. Be it self defense, in protection of others, in the line of duty, or even wantonly...

In cases such as myself, other soldiers, and police, well we can always justify it by saying we were following orders and there is a large measure of truth to that. Studies show that people will do things they find morally objectionable, including torture or kill if ordered to do so by someone they perceive as an authority figure.

Justification was simple for me, it was my duty, I was protecting my fellow Marines. I was young and idealistic, at the time I believed in what I was doing. And there was no anger, no hatred, no pleasure, just a target...

That does not mean that I would be as quick to kill today. I'm not gong to hide in a bell tower and put a bead on somebody just because they pissed me off, but if I or a loved one were in serious danger, yes...

BTW, Did you know that Dr. Ruth Westheimer was a sniper with Haganah, the Jewish underground...

depends. if someone would try to murder me, i probably wouldn't. i don't love myself that much. on the other hand, if someone is terminally ill or in a terrible condition and wishes to die, i would try to provide him with the means to commit suicide, if he asks me.

Unless it was in self-defense, killing is not an option in my playbook.
