Does anyone have any crazy stories from this weekend?

Always interested in what people get themselves into... haha

Well I did do something crazy last weekend. I layed on the couch and FELL ASLEEP FOR 3 HOURS!! I know! Crazy right! I live on the edge. LOL sorry. I am terrible. But I am very interested in this thread and hope people post crazier ones than mine .

I spent most of the weekend in the hospital being treated for a possible stroke does that count? They finally decided it was probably just a TIA. So I spent all week doing testing. Thank god I have insurance now.

Well... I've been remodeling my house, mostly removing the porch roof to make an open terrace. I got the roof all off last fall, but had to stop for winter. Now that it's getting warmer again, I decided to get a good start on finishing it...

This phase of the project involved lowering 24" square concrete block support columns from about 10 feet high, down to 42 inches. But first I had to remove the 100+ pound top caps without damaging them so I can reuse them to finish the lowered columns. ~X(

I figured that the bushes and grass below was soft enough to just let it fall without damaging it and I was correct...

So, with the top cap removed from the first column, I set about carefully chipping away with a hammer and chisel one block at a time until the column was reduced to the desired height.

Then I went down to retrieve the top cap and as I bent down to pick it up, I heard a hissing sound....:?

Then I smelt rotten eggs...:thinking:

Then I remembered that the GAS METER was directly below the column I had just tore down and that I had dropped that massive top cap right on top of it and busted it...

So for an hour and a half, I had been at work with a hammer and chisel, sparks flying right above a massive gas leak...:duh:

Needless to say, what with the evacuation and emergency crew rushing to fix the leak and replace the meter, I didn't get past that first column....:blushing:

i got two massive hickies, one on my left neck and one on my right neck. i have managed to attract unwanted attention from people around me ever since hahahahahaha... but seriously though, never again! especially knowing that i had to deliver an important presentation in front of my supervisor last monday
