Do you use them or not? Do you think its a bad idea having them because they can later lead you into debt? or No because it can easily establish credit to your file?

People who I know have several I have one which I do use to establish my credit especially for those who are just starting off and have no credit :)

they are definitely a two edged sword. Using them in the manner and for the purpose you do Bloop is the way to go. Based on human nature in most cases, the more available credit one has the more one will spend which ultimately has led in part to the fiasco we currently face at least here in America. Credit cards are trouble and having just one or two is really all you need.

i use credit card all the time , when go to groceries or anything i bought , coz its more convinient when i dont have to brought a lot of cash on hand, and i do use them in manner where i knew how much i had been spending.
one more thing is that the reports that came from the credit history (that i never late to paid) help me get a better house rent proposition in my city here :)

I have one, used to have more, but only ever really used one at a time. I refuse any offers to get another one.

It's handy, it can also run away with you if you aren't careful. I'm not too bad, I have never run up 10s of 1000s on it or anything stupid like that.

Sometimes you need some cash fast, like your PC explodes or you fancy a good break. You don't always have that much to hand so a credit card helps and you can pay the bill off over a longer time as you get the money.

I have an oldish neighbour who wanted something recently on credit or it might have been a store card or whatever, but she was refused! Why? She had no credit rating, never had a mortgage, never had a credit card or anything. Crazy world, borrow nothing ever and you can't get any credit if you need it, be a spendthrift and they run to you with open arms offering more !

I have a Home Depot card, 4 Mastercard/Visa Gold cards and 1 Platinum Visa card

I've had them all at least 10 years and I have a total debt on all of them of under $5,000. I don't even owe enough to file bankruptcy. It don't matter how broke I am, the fees are more than I owe...:?

You also need one if you do any internet shopping. It's a lot safer to use than a debit card !!

Why have credits cards - when you can get normal Cards (Visa, Master) - buying too many things on credit cards is not good - the fee and the interests is going cost!! Better to get out debt and put the money you pay in interest and fees an make savings. Some of my friends say I am corny - because I tell them I need to save 2 month more before I can buy a new Sofa, computer or go on vacation. And with savings you have the buffer you need. If you are on a tight budget - better get some extra odd jobs or monetize some skills you have instead of living on loaned money.

I always wanted one... until I got a job in Debt collection. Now I am to scared to get one. I see stories everyday of people who are working full time on very good wages and suddenly lose their job and get themselves into huge problems.

I just use a Visa debit card, using my own money with the freedom of a Credit card.

Just get one with limit for $1k. Great way to start your credit rating.

Usually I don't use credit cards.
I need to see and feel the money running through my fingers to keep track of what I've spent and what is left in my pocket.
There are exception of course. When I buy e.g. a notbook I use a credit card or when I need anything worth over about 500€.
I hate carrying so much money with me and then credit cards are a good thing.

I have enough friends who complain that there is so much month at the end of the money! ;)
And about 3/4 of them use credit cards and never know how much they have already sent.
