why not?
i'm glad too that we can't choose our conditions of life. our family, the way it is, influences our behaviour and character to a big deal. wouldn't we become all equal to each other after a while if we could choose our perfect family? there are good parts about my family and bad ones and both are influencing me and made me what i am today......

If could choose, then I would choose a dad that actually stuck around. Wouldn't trade my mom for anything in the world.

I had no problems with my family and I am glad that I had them. Don't think they knew that I was gay from day one (maybe some expected it) but I would not change anything execpt now that some have died, maybe I well maybe, I would not be shedding a tear now wondering what might have been, what could have been, what should have been, what now sadly will never never be.
