this was sent to me by my auntie:
I am taking a Dale Carnegie course and I have to give a talk next week about someone that has inspired me.
I have chosen my sister, ****, although there have been a lot of people that I could talk about.
Here is a copy of my talk. If you can think of anything to add, it would be appreciated.
There are two versions, so open the one you can.
this is it:
My sister **** is the person that has inspired me.
I am the eldest of 8 children. **** is two years younger.
As kids, she would spend her allowance to buy each kid a birthday present. The morning of your birthday, she would gather all the other kids and wake you with a rousing rendition of “Happy Birthday”,
One week into my senior year, my folks moved to a new town and new school.**** was a sophomore and still wore a kids clothes, size 6X. **** promptly made the cheerleading sqad. She found out about a girl in her class that was in the hospital with cancer.
**** went to see her daily and got other kids to do the same. **** would tell her how they were going to best friends when she came back to school. **** arranged for the homecoming parade to go by the hospital, a route not normally taken, so that this girl could see it from her hospital window.
When our younger brother, Dennis, joined the army, during the Viet Nam era, **** would make up goodie bags for various holidays, (Valentines day, Easter, Thanksgiving, Xmas) and send one to every guy in his squad.
I have never met another person, so small in stature, 5.1” with the spirit of a giant
She was obviously born with a generosity of spirit that the rest of could learn from.........
I never heard these things about my mom....after 44yrs i still find out something special about my family lol
