But seriously, not everyone in a gay bar is gay. If your local boozer is like many of the ones I have known only too well, anyone who looks a little bit unusual, such as having rather eye catching eyebrows, finds the welcome less than warm. So you find some highly fashion conscious young people who are completely straight but find it safer to drink in a gay bar. The barman is happy to have them there as they provide sweet eye candy for the older drinkers.
