Family Guy's Brian

Was watching a few episodes of Family Guy recently and was wondering which squicks you more Brian getting it on with human girls or when he get's it on with dogs.

I was thinking that he just seems like people most of the time and I kind of don't really mind when he has human girlfriends but when he goes after female dogs I feel vaguely disturbed.

(And that reaction disturbs me because I feel like I should be disturbed after all he is a dog.)

I love Family Guy and even put up with Fox's inane and repetitive previews to watch it. I've only recently become a devotee so haven't yet seen Brian with a bitch...can they speak?

Half the time people on the show don't seem to notice that he is a dog. I mean people are never surprised that he owns a car and talks and goes into a bar and orders his own drinks. So I guess it doesn't really matter, it just upsets me that he get laid more than me regardless.

I agree about Stewie. I love it when he's been all evil overlord baby, but anytime the show gets to suggestive about his sexuality I just shudder and look away.

The episode I saw with Brian mating with a bitch he was with Sea Breeze (Lois's Father's champion greyhound) she couldn't talk or walk upright or do any of the things Brian does. It's a hilarious episode though.

I love the whole show. Poor meg she gets the raw in of the stick all the time. Joe is sexy they should give him back his legs for good. Quagmire is....um Gigidy Gigidy.

I don't mind that the degree of Brian's anthropomorphization is inconsistent; what I do mind is that MacFarlane uses Brian to voice his opinions. And it's not because I disagree with those opinions (I agree with most of them), but because I disagree that a comedy show should be preaching any particular viewpoint at all.
