Well, I'm not going to put this into whether something is right or wrong.
But I think what you want is called a fairy tale. Walt Disney made a mint on recycling this story. Small children don't understand the difference between fantasy and reality - it's just one big world out there. As we grow we figure out the difference, and we can still enjoy the fantasy story as fiction. We live in one world, and the Prince lives in another. Those two worlds are not going to cross.
But what we get in its place is something much deeper, more complicated, and much more interesting.
