Burberry Prorsum is always gonna be my favorite one during fall and winter. Their strong and slim cut with amazing silhouette was mesmerizing. The used of ground colors and high class fabrics juxtaposed with well tailored was awesome for an English brand. This year the used of animal print for their volumes trench coat might be to much for me. I prefer their slim trench coat and their military inspired jacket.
Their sling back look nice also.
Here are some of my fav:

Every fall and winter we can always predict that military and furs are gonna be trend again. Not to mention animal print. Need an fresh idea. Houndstood are not quite favored in this season are they?
There are some nice pilot inspired jacket from Gucci this FW13, some furs detailing but not to heavy. It looks good with cigarette cut trousers, made a volumes silhouette.
For suits, I chose Dior Homme, though dont you think the idea of buckles that cinched on waist was popularized by Versace FW10 collection? It looks good anyway.

I wanna know what is the definition to fashion? Is it just somenthing that is in at some time and everyone would have to want it? Is your own style fashion? Is it a certain way of dressing you like or the general opinnion? What is fashion? All I know that to me it looks like somenthing you have really have to follow to understand? Is it like art, to some its just pretty pictures and to some so much more? Seriously, someone, what is fashion?:)

I never was interested in fashion but I do like the models who wear the stuff. BTW years ago I heard that the typical way of walking of the models is meant for the photographers. It seams that it avoids dull moments; every picture is a hit that way.

To some, fashion is an art
form. To others, it is almost
a religion.
But for most people it is a
method of utilizing clothing,
accessories and hair to
show or hide something
about yourself.
You can use fashion to
express yourself, to serve as
an extension of your
personality: goth, skater,
soccer mom, professional.
Or you can use fashion to
disguise your true self:a
conservative in vamp
clothing, a vamp in
conservative clothing.
Fashion statements can be
made with clothes,
accessories, shoes, hair,
makeup, even your
cellphone.

Even if you say you don't
care about fashion and
don't dress to make a
statement, you are making a
statement (that you don't
care about fashion).
Why care about fashion?
Most people pay attention
to fashion in small doses
which is a very healthy way
to approach it. They make
sure wardrobes are in step
with the times and even
indulge in a trend or two
each season.
A few reasons why fashion
is still relevant:
It shows your thinking is
modern and flexible (e.g.
willing to accept and
process new ideas).
Fashion has escapist
qualities to help you deal
with the pressures of the
world (For example: your
country may be at war,
but you've "escaped" by
dressing in the season's
fluffy ruffles that make
you look like you don't
have a care in the world).
Everything you put on
sends a message.

I do not think a layperson should base his choice of clothes on they way models and clothes sellers model clothes. They are selling clothes after all. We are not.

Well nobody can really say they don't care about fashion since we all have preferences, but the rough definition of fashion isn't just about the clothes... fashion is a priori the art of showing. I for say don't give a rat ass about the designer or his farm of models. I remember watching fashion shows with my dad and even when I follow Alex to his modeling session, I really really don't give a fuck about the clothes, the shoes, the belt and all those accessories as I dress the way Alex want me to dress... I do not shop, I do not follow the trends I do not change my Iphone to match my shoes and I did not get a IPhone because it was a trend (got it because I needed the features)... Fashion is nice and thanks RefixnarcisM for your definition but not everyone dress to make a statement my friend... many of us dress because it's illegal to go about naked in public :)) But I propose to complete RefixnarcisM definition of fashion by treating it as a sociological study.

But I do not have time to hatch a whole research on fashion and to be honest I don't give a rat ass about it, however I suggest everyone who want to learn more about fashion treated as a social action, there's a study that was made at the beginning of the 19th century started by Simmel (1904), Sapir (1931) and Langs (1961) and from those three a thesis was written by HERBERT BLUMER, University of California, Berkeley which was published in the Sociological Quarterly Journal... if you search on Google you should immediately find it, the thesis is called "Fashion: From Class Differentiation to Collective Selection." Yes I have read it and I can promise it will give you a true and concise explanation of what is fashion... and confirm that fashion isn't only about the clothes, the hats and the shoes you wear, it goes way beyond that, way beyond just making a statement. Fashion is a single word covering several subjects.

Go ahead and educate yourself... it isn't just about brand of designers who make your tiny underwear :)

Clothes make the man is an old saying in The Netherlands which means that they are responsible for your personality. I don't believe that. For your personality you need other qualities. Expensive clothes - watches or cars can only temporally hide your real personality. I want to live my life simple and my way. I am not interested in being part of some show. But everybody is of course free to do it their way.

Agreed. This thread should have an exception.

And next I would dare argue with some sentences what have been writte here:

Fashion isn't something what you would follow or wouldn't, it's not something concrete. Especially in today postmodern age exist so many styles of fashion.
And everyone can create his own mixture. - And this is second thing what I want to say "clothes makes a man" thats true. Fashion is just this what's beyond physical function of clothes. It's your space to express your personality (sometimes also sexuality :D ), eventually kind of communication to other people cos they see you. You know, every combination of clothes has its message - so thats reason why worth to think about it. And it is not necesarily about expensive brands to me. For me it's about composing from colors, motives, cuts, materials, ... But brands are on last place for me, yeah I want quallity but I'm not willing to pay unreasonable prices (after all I'm not rich enought for it). If you wanna concerete example - leather jacket, just most classic one - basic black biker jacket from cow leather - in shop with goods for bikers you will buy it for price cca about 150 USD at most. Few days ago I was browsing web pages of some British boutique for high society and there they had a cow leather jacket in almost same cut for about 1.500 GBP ...
Well, some people into expensive brands, some are only into that - everything expensive but no order and no compatibility in it - and it just says "I am a snobbish person". But you can create great combination with a budget too. For example last time I was shopping I get idea "I wanna something rebel" and I've bought red jeans (price about 35 EUR).
In short. Think abou your clothes because others see you and read you! You don't have to be extravagant, simple style is a good style too, but it must come from an idea, cos clothes aren't only for protection against weather and insect.

There's the interesting distinction between fashion and style.
Fashion is the clothes of the moment.
Style is how you present yourself to the world.
For example, I never wear white athletic shoes. Never, ever. Mostly black hi tops. That's not a fashion statement; it's my style choice.
The new fashion is red or other bright hi tops. They look good on the hot young gym boys. But I doubt I will change my style and wear them.

Should had said it more clearly guys, sorry. It is ok to post example pictures as long as the pictures wont become the main purpose of the thread.

.... this is what happens when I try to think and write in English and do my "mod stuff" at 4 am :duh:

... and remember the allowed picture hosts...

I'd say black hi tops aren't out of fashion. Today is nothing in fact. Just look what everything people wear. Some wear brown leather leisure shoes and manchester undercoat like in 30s, some wear trucker hat and Nike dunk high like in 80s. And so on and on and on ... As I said, I'ts postmodern era and nothing is out of fashion. Everything is coming back in some intervals as a retro and universal fashion doesn't exist. Cca 1 year ago here in Czech rep. was released one interesting book called "Kmeny" - ENG: Tribes. There are photos and interwiews with various members of these "city tribes" like emo, hip hop, punk, heavy metal, queer, gothic, motorbikers, bodybuilders, skinheads... explanation of their philosophy, clothing, attitudes, activities... and thats whats today world is - diversity.

LOL I don't do jeans at all... if there's one thing you'll never see me wear is jeans or shorts... even under 25 degrees I'll still have long sleeves pants... well they're mostly nylon or lycra tracks but no jeans and no shorts and I rarely wear bathing suit too... I normally go at the beach in my suffer's suit :)
