I was wondering if any of you have Gastritis before? And what are the remedies for it? Any common symptoms? And what to eat, whats not to eat when you have this pain?

stay away from coffee, cigarettes, cola drinks, anything that is spicy - even ketchup, mustard or mayo to see if that eases up on the pain. at the same time try the over-counter antacids. Milk is supposed to help coat the stomach and ease some types of gastritis, but too much is not good either. see a doc to be sure it's not an ulcer - they can kill you if left untreated for too long.
gastritis isnt something fun to live with--The main acute causes are excessive alcohol consumption or prolonged use of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (also known as NSAIDs) such as aspirin or ibuprofen. Sometimes gastritis develops after major surgery, traumatic injury, burns, or severe infections. Gastritis may also occur in those who have had weight loss surgery resulting in the banding or reconstruction of the digestive tract.--but the funny thing is i has this and i didnt have any of the above to give me i t--my was caused by nerves--stress --i worried about everything from my sexuality--to if my mom was going to find out or even catch me and my friend in my room and all --at school i would worry about grades--if bullies were going to buly me and so on--
the thing is now a days there is alot of meds out there to take before eating anything to help keep it from flaring up and bothering you--i take prevacid--now over the counter--once a day and antacid twice a day before i eat lunch and dinner and i havent had a flare up in over 5 yrs--sure there been times it gets irritated i learned to deal with that--but any major major ups i havent had
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gastritis is where to read up on it and always google it or yahoo.com do a search in their searchbar--the internet is a wonderful thing--i didnt have it when i was diagnosed with my problems yrs ago---as for my problems i have acid reflux disease barretts esophagus which in my last endoscopy--it is just about gone yippee--
