We had a husky and a cat when I was a kid. The cat was always smacking the dog's tail and ears, jumping on her feet, etc. The dog was incredibly gentle with the cat and never harmed him, even though the cat drew blood a few times. When the cat died of natural causes, the dog really grieved for him.

When our older Kitty died, the veterinarian told us that our Romy should not see the corpse.
By seeing it she would have realised the death of Kitty, what could have caused mental problems. But not seeing it would just let her forget about Kitty. She has just dissappeared for Romy.

And now Romy's the boss

Kitty lies in the garden of my stepfather's brother's mother in law... and her grave has a marble plate on it with her name in golden letters...
