This will be a thread about the work of Gio Black Peter, born in Guatemala in 1979 (I think) as Giovanni Andrade Paolo Guevara; his family emigrated from Guatemala to the US in the mid 1980s and he lives in New York City.
In my opinion Gio is one of the most interesting and multifaceted underground artists of today: actor (in James Bolton's "Eban and Charley" (2000) and in Bruce LaBruce's "Otto; or, Up with Dead People" (2008)); musician/singer-songwriter/front figure in the pop-punk band "Black Peter Group"; performance artist and visual artist (painter/photographer/videographer).
He has done a lot of co-operative work with New York artists like Slava Mogutin and Brian Kenny & with the enfant terrible of Canadian moviemaking, Bruce LaBruce. You could say that Gio Black Peter is a New York artist picking up from where Keith Haring and Jean-Michel Basquiat left off in the 1980s.
On top of that he's an incredibly sexy boi in my opinion, a little guy with not only great artistic output, but also a big schlong.

to the world of Giovanni. he has been one of my favourite contemporary artists for some time. he is unafraid of tackling bigotry, censorship of male nude bodies and sexuality. He also stands up for transgender people and the fluid nature of human sexuality, from gay to bisexual, straight and every other facet you can imagine.
