My friends always call be a buzz kill for getting on their case about it, but PLEASE don't drive while intoxicated, even while slightly intoxicated. Traffic accidents are the number one killer for young people in the US. Please don't take this lightly because it's a very serious matter. I had an uncle that killed himself and many others others by driving under the influence. He thought was just just fine, but obviously not fine enough if he ended up crashing head-on with a station wagon that had an entire family in it. :(

Thanks logan! Don't worry about being called names. I have a similiar story of a friend who went out drunk and hit an innocent person (they lived and were fine tg) but geez guys..It's 2012! You can get a cheap pizza delivered for nothing or maybe you live within a couple blocks of somewhere...SO WALK! I've gotten in a car drunk and realized...WTF am I doing? Plus these days I would have lost my job with a DUI....NOT WORTH IT! Like my fun like everyone else but I won't endanger another person because I know better.

peace,

I agree with logan and garth. Only drive sober (no alcohol, no hallucinogenic drugs and be alert for medical drugs). But why go out to eat. Many many years ago they invented the stove. Cook your own meal. Healthier, tastier and -this is important for a Dutchman- much cheaper.

I'm the poster child for drinking and driving and its not a history I am proud of. Thankfully I have never injured anyone but I have hurt myself and others in the process in a number of ways. Its just not worth it...take the great advice given and stay out of the car when even a little tipsy. And Logan, I wish I had a buzz kill in my company on every occasion I drank and drove...so congrats to you for speaking up!!!

DON'T!!!!

Walk, get a cab, call takeout, do ANYTHING but risk the lives of innocent people just because you are a bit peckish!

To be blunt, drink-driving is not OK.

Some social taboos are just archaic, the taboo against drinking and driving is NOT one of those.

I'm very lucky. I live in the city and can cab, or bus, or walk. My friends in the suburbs just don't have those options. They should, of course, just stay home or stay sober, but people are not perfect.
None of them have hurt anyone, but they have been stopped by the cops. A year without a drivers license has been pretty effective in improving their decisions.
