Are you talking about those add-on toolbars like Yahoo or Google? Or do you mean built in toolbars? If you mean built in then look under the wrench icon. If you mean the bookmark toolbar, you probably have it turned off.

What actions are you trying to do that you can't do?

Chrome has a wonderfully minimalist interface that only shows you stuff that is relevant a the time, and gives you as much of your screen as possible for actually looking at web pages.

Chrome can do anything any other browser can, so what is it you are not able to do?

There are a lot of computer noobs including me who struggle with new shit. But I think if you want the toolbars then :

Open Google Chrome. At the top right hand side is a spanner icon. Click on it and go to options. Then for toolbars click the two options (home button and bookmarks bar).

I just downloaded google chrome and it's always weird at first. I need the toolbars as well so maybe that's what wintertime was referring to.

Edit: This threads a week old, I'm sure you've figured it out :)

Not true it doesn't crashes as much as IE8 or new built of Firefox and I tried having it cook eggs last time and it didn't work :angry:I am so frustrated right now I'll write to General Electric to have them fix their dumb mistake with their browser and will call Google because my remote doesn't change the channel on my microwave. And if nobody does anything about my simple requests next time I'll vote for my dog for presidency of my unknown fan club.:rofl::rofl:. I'm very technology savvy!

On another post I criticized Chrome for not having a string search feature. Looks like it had one all along. Right under the little wrench icon. Still missing the print preview feature although there are convenient work arounds. Chrome has been my default browser for several months now. Never even bothered with the recent FF upgrade.

Google Chrome is the best browser ever! It's fast, slick and has a beautiful minimal design. It does everything that the other browsers can do but better. If you can't do something that the others can, it's probably because you haven't figured out how to do it in Chrome yet.

And apparently google likes lady gaga (or at least likes using her image for advertising purposes). I gonna stick to IE and Firefox for now :)

Wow - so in Windows every app has to do re-write their own print-preview function? It's not just a part of the print support in Windows?

I often start to take the Mac for granted and assume that every OS has things like Print Preview and Save as PDF as a part of the standard print dialogue.

I used Google Chrome for a long time on a very old computer, and I thought that it worked very well, but I always wondered why there were never any updates. I use Firefox on my computers now because of the Web of Trust.

There are LOADS of updates to Google Chrome, they just happen silently in the background.

As for the Web of Trust, what do you mean by that?

They rate websites, and they warn you away from the ones that have had the most complaints or problems, useful when surfing for porn. GayHeaven has a rating of Excellent. It's directly to the left of the URL on the Firefox browser.

I'm guessing this is some sort of plugin you installed?

Yeah, it's a plugin you need to install. It gives websites ratings - if there's suspicious shit, adult material, or untrustworthy in general (good for shopping online). If the website's bad or code red it shows a screen asking if you want to proceed which is also a good feature.

Apparently they've developed it for Chrome as well.

If anyone is interested, Print Preview is going to be available in the stable release of Chrome 13. Its currently available in the dev version for Windows , Linux, and Mac but is full of bugs.

If you are using Chrome 12 (stable) the preview feature can be turned on in Windows, Linux and Mac. Its off by default as its not fully functional in any of those operating systems. If you go into the 'flags' area of Chrome, there is an 'enable ' button.

All you can do is view the preview, none of the other features you typically expect in a Preview window are available.
