Graveyard?

I'm fairly certain that's the place my friend Racheal drags me to at midnight on the last Friday the 13th (beginning of Friday the 13th, end of the Thursday) because she wants to find ghosts!

Egads.

I'm not a fan of the dark, and I'm superstitious.

She's lucky I love her to bits!

Graveyard is a place where I connect with people of the past. I look at the names and dates and imagine their life. I think 'This person died over 100 years ago, at age 25. What is his story? Was he hot looking?

I think, someone carved this stone a century ago and its still here. I look around and usually you find family members. What was their life? What was the town like 100 years ago?

I find graveyards pretty positive places. It gives me a sense of place in time and space. A sense of continuity. That's why I don't agree with scattering ashes. There is no physical evidence that the person lived. Most of us leave no record of our existence, no books, no paintings, no music. A gravestone marks our existence for those who come later and can appreciate this.

Well a graveyard will be my final home address you could visit me at in the future :D

And more seriously, it's just a good place where you can go and immerse yourself into thoughts and memories about those who once were with you, and those you cared about. I don't visit graveyards myself, but perhaps it's mostly because I haven't lost anyone I would care about that much yet (putting aside the fact I'm an atheist).

If your post has been deleted or the links are dead it comes up as "Graveyard". It's a pending area of dead posts that used to be visible way back but is no longer accessible. They are all wiped away en masse at various times when certain forum processes are run.

Graveyard, crematory, whatever, it is nice to have a place where you can say farewell to somebody you loved.

I'm not going to one when I die; I'm going to be burned up & thrown away. Anywhere, I don't care now & I certainly won't care then.

Why should I think of a graveyard?
I'm still alive and thankful for that and I hope this won't be a theme to me for many years.

In my family there happened too many deaths and I even lost my dad just when he was 51 years old!

I want to enjoy my life as long and as much as I can! :)

I hope not to offend anyone.

But personally I think that the graveyard is the final act of a big deal, where someone speculates and is enriched with the pain of people.
