“Boy Eating the Bird’s Food“, a 2012 film written and directed by Ektoras Lygizos and loosely based on the novel “Hunger” by Knut Hamsun was Greece’s entry for the Academy Awards that year but sadly it didn’t get selected. The story develops in a span of three days in the life of an Athens boy who is without a job, a girlfriend, or anything to eat and the only thing he has left is his canary. A controversial scene of the movie is a explicit shot where the lead actor, Yiannis Papadopoulos, masturbates to climax into his own hand to end up eating his own
