Anybody have experience with Grindr? How do you handle seeing someone on it who probably shouldn't be?

Grindr is an app for iphone and blackberry that essentially shows up other users by who is nearest to you (located by GPS). It's kinda ok, but it's pretty rare you'll get anything on there other than a few different things.

1. Old guys hitting on really young guys
2. Really lecherous people looking for various forms of NSA sex (Had one message along the lines of 'want to meet for fucking, dirty, piss, shit, filthy, handcuffs, take advantage of me if you get me drunk enough, chemed up, filthy disgusting fuck fest' I was like ... o_o -block-
3. Conversations like: Hi, Hi, How are you?, Ok you?, Yeah I'm ok -silence-

It needs a search function XD

I've not useed grindr, but I've used aplications for PC that have the same purpose. I discovered very quickly that instant hookups are not for me. Unless I can see a photo of the other person (and I don't just mean see a photo of their dick) or read a profile description, and preferably exchange a few messages over a period of time to feel as though I partially know the other person, I don't bother.

Have gotten a few hookups from the site, but a lot of trolls for the most part. As to seeing other people on there that you don't want to see, if they are on there as well, isn't that kind of like mutually assured destruction? Both parties would have reason not to discuss it.... A very poorly written app by the way...

Any of these cute software apps that link people together or locate them are a mixed blessing. Sure, the social aspect is neat, but the hacker potential to rape your mobile and grab data and personal stuff from it is all too real. Every time a new social network or similar app goes online, you can bet that someone is working on jacking, cracking and hacking it.
