guitar poses? up or down?

Puzzled here. Some people play guitar with the instrument riding real low. Way below the waist. Especially bass players. Some wear it higher , at the waist. (I'm an axe slinger and play with the guitar up high, at the waist)

I doubt that the original poster has sufficient maturity to continue this thread. I've worked with a couple of musicians and stage bands, and most bass players have said they prefer to wear their instrument low, due to the weight of a solid-body electric bass........it seems to ride better below the hips. Also, they don't typically need to use intricate fingering (which requires closer up playing), as might be the case in a six-string lead or rhythm axe.
