In the US - we act like it's a day to give thanks for what we have but really it's just a day to eat like a pig and (NEW) go Christmas Shopping EARLY because stores are now opening in the evening hours of one of the older American holidays...disgusting but that's another story.:(

Personally - I'm THANKFULp:p for the fortune I have with a good job in a good country with access (online) to so many funny and good friends from all around the world that have just reinforced my belief that no matter where you live on this planet - we can all get along if we just TRY...try to get past differences on the outside or the inside. I've found meeting a LOT of people from all over the planet....we have far more in common that we have differences...you just have to look:)

Peace buddies

I'm thankful that Thanksgiving has passed already here in Canada so there's only Christmas left to be hypocritically nice to one another

I do like traditions. They are the rare moments we share as family or community. Of course I do realize that I make a fool of myself. There will be no peace or equal opportunities as long as humanity behaves the way it does. I am a hypocrite, without any doubt. But is it such a crime to feel a bit less hypocrite a few times a year?
I wish you a happy Thanksgiving, or Christmas, or whatever will be the name for your local traditions.

Over the past several years, the holidays always makes me emotional and sentimental due to the passing of the love of my life. However, this Thanksgiving, I am overwhelmed emotionally due to the fact of how much I've grown as an individual and how I've pursued my education despite nay-sayers and yet, I've graduated a couple of weeks ago with high academic honors. I am also thankful for the fact of opening myself up on this forum and sharing and expressing personal feelings and situations that I would not have normally have done. Not to be counted as the least, I am thankful for those individuals on this forum whom had reached out to me and offer not only their concern but their support to allow me to contact them whenever I need to chat or vent which means so much to me because with my friends, I know that they will give me responses from a whole different perspective where as the individuals on this forum will not be bias, but have given me great advice because some of them can relate to the situations I have shared. And for this, I am deeply and truly grateful...Thank you all so much...

So they stuffed me with turkey and pies... and sent me home with turkey and pie. ( The birds are huge, and the pies are many.)
The history of this holiday is something. The pilgrims survived, were helped by the Indians, and had a celebration of thanks. It all happened right around where I live.

So let me give a few thanks.

- Gay people are no longer the untouchables in the world. Not everywhere, not completely,
but the pace of progress is giddy.
- On a local level. Wild turkeys! We also call this turkey day. For a long time, wild turkeys were extinct in the northeast of North America. They released a flock somewhere...and now they are everywhere. They love the suburbs!
They run from the dogs; they are eaten by the coyotes, they torment the schoolchildren. But if you have a bit of a wood...you have wild turkeys.
-My gayheaven friends...just thanks.

I'm very late to the party here, but I hope all the US members of this forum had a good thanks giving, and had lots to give thanks for.

Well - because it is not a holiday here in Germany I'll always forget it. So today (November 26) I hope for all Americans and Canadians that it will be a great happy together with family and/or friends!

Special greetings here to my good friend Sniffit - have a great day!

:blushing: So you can see that this is a holiday I'm not used to. So to all Canadians here on GH - SORRY FOR MY FAULT. But my good wishes, as late as they may be, are coming always deep from the bottom of my heart!
And thanks Haiducii to spell me out for it!
