I'm not sure as to how many of you guys have read my previous posts, but I witnessed a miracle with myself being told five years ago after being raped and physically beaten to a pulp after my lungs and kidneys collapsed. I was told by the doctor that I would not make it through the surgery and if by chance I did, I would become partially paralyzed permanently and would never be able to talk or eat solid foods. To make a long story short, after a few more additional surgeries and over a year and a half of therapy, and working out on a daily basis, I defied the odds and exceeded well beyond the expectations of the doctors. The only thing that did occur from that incident is my right vocal chords were damaged but I'm doing a lot better in that area too. I truly look at this situation as a miracle and I still can't believe how far I've come.

Well I believe in God so I believe that miracles are happening around mainly to those who deserve. I passed through a nerve-racking situation in the past..
my father and I were about to leave home, going to work, my father was already inside the car waiting for me... I was late once more, gettin ready to go, when I stepped outside the house, I noticed there wasn't any car in front of the house, my father wasn't there, but I saw car in front of the house next door, an old, dirty and suspicous one... I froze... I didn't want to believe what that meant, I entered my house and started calling his cellular - no response, after about 5° call, his cell was turned of
(Cell unsigned) I sat down in the chair in the fron yard and kept attempting to call. When my older brother arrived home (about 30 min after) he fell into despair, shortening the history, my father was found alive and unharmed in a distant city about 4,5h after (an eternity)
2 out of 3 kidnappers were killed in the confrontation with police, 1 is still arrested

My uncle died years ago. At the cemetary, after the burial as we were leaving, a little bird flew in the car his widow was riding in. It perched on the head rest. We couldn't get the bird to shoo. It would not leave the car. Finally got it out. My uncle in life kept parrakeets as pets, a bird guy.

I think what happens is that if someone is predisposed to believe in the "paranormal" or in divine intervention, on witnessing an event that appears highly improbable or difficult to explain they will interpret it as a miracle or some manifestation of the supernatural. Those who believe everything has a rational explanation will seek such an explanation, and will usually find it, or explain the event as sheer coincidence (which is another form of rational explanation). Coincidences do happen, just not very often, that's why they are called coincidences and also why we notice them so much when they do happen.

To take the example above of the bird in the car, how many times has somebody died who was a bird fancier, and a bird NOT flown into the car? Or a bird fly into the car when the deceased had no particular interest in birds? Such an incident would not be considered particularly notable, so it would not be remembered and talked about.

Also, sometimes people confuse miracles with plain old-fashioned luck. If you win this week's million dollar lottery, you might be tempted to say it was a miracle... but not really. After all, SOMEBODY has to win the jackpot, this time it just happened to be you.

Paranormal? Miracles? No, I don't believe in them, but I saw an study that shows that believing in somenthing(somekindof afterlife or stuff)is just healthy. It can be God, UFOs, new-age or what ever. I too believe in somenthing but I rather keep it to myself to avoid conflicts of faith:D

The thing is its unheard of for a bird to fly inside of a parked car. It must happen , but I've never , ever experienced it, nor ever heard of it happening to anyone. It is a 1 in a billion occurance. And of all times for it to happen, after the burial of a bird lover, as the body is being lowered into the ground. Plus flying into the widows car. (Uncle and Aunt were an old time romance, married for life.) There were a ton of cars parked around the grave site, the bird went in the widows car. Astounding coincidence.

In 2 downstairs bedrooms of my childhood home...a ghost would regularly appear. Middle of the night...you'd wake up feeling like "someone is here"....look hazily in the corner and see the outline or shape of a person - but very dark. I saw it so many times I think I got bored with it at the end...when we sold my Moms house I was there the last night and tried to make contact to no avail - it was kind of sad....

My grandmother had paranormal abilities. I know from my father that she solved some mysteries. Disappeared people (always dead). Even the local police used her qualities. I have no idea how it works. Actually it is not my thing.

In Quebec there is a beautiful church called The Basilica of Ste Anne de Beaupre. It is 30 miles to the east of Quebec City on the Ste Lawrence river. Pilgrims come to this basilica by the millions. Over the years many of them have been cured of their illnesses during the pilgrimage. This is unexplainable.

When you enter the basilica there are hundreds of crutches, canes, breathing equipment, polio braces arranged in piles. These have been left by pilgrims who left under their own power after being healed here. Whatever the mechanism of healing, it remains a mystery.

There's plenty of info on this holy site online if you're interested. I've been out to the basilica a couple of times. Its always jam packed with people making the pilgrimage.
