My HP laptop came with Muvee Producer, which will take a screen shot if you pause it to the frame you want to capture. Don't know if this helps or not, and so far I cannot manipulate the size of the image (the moderators prefer large screen caps). I had the same problem with KPM player and a couple other's I downloaded, that's when I decided to look at the software loaded on my PC.

Okay sorry, now I see you own a mac, disregard the above.... :(

On OS X why not just use Quicktime Player?

Certainly for .mov format, yes. Open the movie, select Export on the File menu, select Movie to Image Sequence, select an appropriate format and frame rate under Options..., and do it.

That gives you images, which can be put in a grid using another image program.

I've never come across anything like ImageGrabber for the Mac. The VLC player allows you to save out individual frames, but then you'd still have to put them together in another program like Photoshop.

I did a little searching at MacUpdate.com but didn't find anything there either.
