I was a strange one actually!! I liked girls (& boys) when I was young, but went off girls and went towards the guys for some time. I told my Dad in a car and he guessed already. Probably from some of the company I kept. My brother didn't take it badly , my Mum didn't either, although she was convinced I'd find a nice girl
It was years later I had to "come in" so to speak LOL That was actually more difficult , admitting after several years I liked a girl!
Straight people, and I use the term as those who only see one thing or another and can't handle diversity so easily, have difficulty in understanding that you can like both. That goes for gay friends too. I lost a couple I had when I started dating women again.
I find it goes both ways. I've met so much gay prejudice against women, or gay guys that are against someone who likes women ("he must be gay", etc) and straight guys against gays , that I gave up thinking about it.
I'm free - I've said before, I'll say again, I detest labels. You like who you like regardless.
