How do I open zipx files?

Please someone tell me how to open zipx files? After downloading some files that I thought they were interesting, come to find out that the files have extension "zipx" . Normally, Jdownload will open files up for you automatically but with this stranges(to me) zipx files, it can not handle them. So, I tried using the normal zip and rar etc..software to open these files with no success! I ended up getting a wasted archives of the same file types. Please help me by giving me some advice as what I should do with these files. I did erased some of the files after trying unsuccessfully to open them. At the moment, I avoid downloading any files ending with zipx until I know how to open them.

How to open a .zipx file (unzip zipx files)
Bitzipper can be downloaded using the instructions below, and with it you will be able to open and extract the contents of the zipx file. To open/extract a zipx file:

•Download and install the latest version of WinZip
•Once you have WinZip installed open it and go to File->Open
•Browse to the location of the .zipx file and select it
•Once you can see the contents of the .zipx file click on Extract To and select a location where to unpack the .zipx file
Once WinZip (or Bitzipper) is installed you can extract a zipx file by right-clicking it and selecting Extract To or Extract here.

I think I used WinZip before but stopped after the evaluation period expired. Still this is an annoying feature that they keep asking you to buy their stuff. That's why I did not like it. There are some other free softwares that could open zip files, but I hit the wall when l I ran into the zipx files.!! I will continue to look for free softwares to open the zipx files. However, thanks for your response. I appreciated it.

7-Zip is an excellent, free utility which will decompress .zipx files. (There are a few others as well, but 7-Zip is the best universal one as of now for this file type).
