I treat people in different ways for the most part. Overall I'm a pretty nice and courteous individual (I like to think) and I typically give people the benefit of the doubt. However, if I don't like someone I make sure it's known and I'm not one to really take crap from anyone. There are a fair number of people who don't think highly of me because I've changed my attitude towards them based on their actions. I also used to be really vindictive but not so much anymore....

Damn..guess I'm gonna have to go on a diet and get down to the gym then.

I like to think that I treat people based on mutual respect and courteousy. If I don't like somebody I try to not deal with them at all, but if I have to then its in a neutral sort of way, polite - but nothing more.

If someone is giving you a lot of crap and is trying to get a rise out of you I think it's far more satisfying not to rise to the bait but to explain, calmly but firmly, why they are wrong then simply walk away.

99% of the time I treat people quite well and politely. I believe in good manners but break that rule then you'll get my worst side ;) People who let doors slam in your face or don't say a simple thanks when you hold it open for them, next time I'll make sure they get the same treatment!!

Otherwise I'm very happy to help old ladies lift their bags onto a train, let someone who only has 1 item in a shop go in front, etc etc Being nice means you get the same back.

Courtesy doesn't cost and if more people went around with a smile it would be more pleasant. Too much rushing about causing stress, I refuse to rush anywhere :p

But Xman how could you remember or re encounter the same person who had let the door slam on your face or didn't say thank you when you hold the door for? I used to be really nice and I would hold the door open for those running to catch the train for a couple of people and no one had politely said thank you!! I was so disappointed that I had stopped doing it for anyone... I had also stopped offering my seat to others.. I still do so when I know if the person is an elderly who is in dire need of a seat or someone who is pregnant, other than that I stop all together.. I am still a nice person being asked something or doing something for others.. but those kind gestures I had stopped because no one had been deserving of my extra effort

Never stop!! The next person might be quite deserving.

THE person I had in mind was one of the big managers where i work - fat rude arrogant bastard!! Next time I'll stick my foot out - it'll be worth getting the sack for to watch him sprawl on the ground - and you bet the room will probably cheer LOL :p

People sometimes don't get my silly sense of humour, SlimJim understands it, but never sure if my British irony travels well across the Atlantic :p
