For drying myself - once and once only, towels are for rubbing off loose dead skin as well as water, so re-use is ick ick ick!

That modern hassles of everyday showering is to me a little overlooked. When I was a kid my father was progressive, so he installed a shower. When we moved to our next house he had to break the shower. Where in god’s name do you need a shower for, the next residents wondered. My kids shower every day. I am fine with that, it’s their life. I shower once a week. When I was young I sported every day, so I showered every day. Now my sweat has become lazy. When I have showered I dry my towel on the radiator. So for me, two weeks with a towel.

It's no wonder the greenhouse gasses are high if people wash a towel after only one use! My brother & his girlfriend are like that.

That's just ridiculous. All those 1000's of washing machines and dryers burring away day after day using energy.

Perhaps the more austere times will bring back a more sensible approach and realistic outlook on things

I use each towel 3 to 4 times before sending that sucker to the laundry bin. I shake most of the water off before I even use the towel, so I don't dampen it too much. The environmentalist in me would kill my physical self if I ever used towels only once and then washed them. lol

I exfoliate thoroughly in the shower, so there shouldn't be much dead skin on my towel when I'm done. And any dead skin that gets on the towel is at least CLEAN dead skin! I generally use one bath sheet (very large bath towel) for the week. Hand towels and kitchen towels are swapped out every other day or so, depending on use.

I try to limit myself to one load of laundry per week. I don't do white clothing, nor anything with colors that bleed, so I don't need to do separate loads. I use enough soap and water washing my hands fifty times a day, no need to use an excess for laundry as well! :cheers:

When I first saw this thread I thought it was asking how long I take to use a towel each time I do the operation of drying myself after a shower.

The answer to that would be: as long as it takes. Less time in winter than in summer, because I want to get dry and warm as quickly as possible.
