If I had $20,000 it would pay off my car and housing til my disability was settled

$2.5 Million...

While it would not be enough to get me on an episode of "Lifestyles Of The Rich And Famous" or MTV's Cribs, $2.5 million would be plenty enough to give myself and my mother (who's in a wheelchair) a very nice life...

Out of it $500k would be spent on two modest homes to be custom built, one for my mother and one for me, a new Cadillac, a Corvette, and a motorcycle for me, and one of these for my mother...

(yes, that's a Chrysler PT Cruiser Convertible with a wheelchair ramp, pretty fuckin' cool, eh?)
along with an IBot for her, for those that don't know what an IBot is, it's a six wheeled all terrain, gyroscope balanced wheelchair that will go up and down stairs and even rised up to standing height while balancing on two wheels much like a Segeway...

The remaining $2 million, would go into a savings account. Even only generating 3-3.5% interest, that would give me about $60-$70k a year to live on. More than enough for a modest but comfortable lifestyle...

I do not care much about money. Mostly all stuff I buy is second hand. So I am afraid that the solution for the economic crisis will not come out of my direction.

I don't think money is necessarily the key to happiness... I've got a few quid stashed away for emergencies and sure it helps to remove all those worries that come with not having money... but having a lot more would not compensate for good health and good friends.

The less you have, the happier you are. You just have to realize it. We need more and more. When you have millions, you buy more expensive cars etc. Only things that make me happy are hobbies(painting for me), friends, family etc. That jetset party life will become dull as soon as you get used to it and it becomes your normal day and you need more to be happy. I'm not pointing fingers here, I'm just bad at telling what I mean. Hope you get the point:)

I need millions over millions over millions! :p Nah, just kidding! I`m happy with less...a minimum wage here but a nice job to where I`d go with pleasure and yes, millions and millions of friends! For me is enough if I can pay the rent and eat and pay the bills. I`m not a spender..

Gee, you all make my $2.5 million sound greedy...

But I my defense, I wasn't just thinking of myself, I was also including enough for my mother and I wasn't just thinking about the present. I was thinking long term so neither her or I would ever have to worry about money ever again...

Hmm , I can't say a specific amount, only enough that allows me to live comfortably, and get the things that I need, to live a content life.

I wouldn't mind being filthy rich, but then I'd run the risk of becoming materialistic (trust me I know myself), then I'd buy things not because I need them, but simply because I could.

So I just want enough to live comfortable, not to wonder how I'm going to pay this and that-- and enough that I can indulge myself now and again.

When I was a child I was happy to get 1 German Mark to buy ice cream. That makes me happy at this time.
And now: 30 years later: I'm still happy, when I have enough money to buy the "little things in life".

I would personally like to make about triple my current pay right now so I could pay off my debt quickly, live like I do now, and then also be able to give back time and money to my community, instead of just my time when able.
