no families around me and not much friends either.
just barely hangin on, i guess.

friendless in seattle

I'm surprised to hear that. The times I've been in Seattle, it truly impressed me. As did Portand OR. I was talking to a woman there once and said I was visiting Seattle, she said she was glad I was visiting. She said she had been in Seattle for many years and had seen the population double.

She kinda spoke negatively about new settlers. Is that it? I understand the new folk are all escapees from LA and California in general. Is that true? Are the new arrivals from CA the problem?

Otherwise the northwest is a favorite place, I've been all over. And I find it kinda easy to meet people there.

My friends and family are all doing the best they can in these trying times. It's so precious of you to inquire.

Congratulations on your three-hundredth post! Please tell your Momma that I asked how she's doing.

(For those who may not speak Southern, this is a good example of a polite thank you note. Precious being a high compliment. As a good Southern Belle or Beau knows, one always returns a compliment in kind by thanking the person for a specific achievement. It is always proper to pass one's regards along to another's mother.)
