I've been saving money since last summer to buy a new toy, a very nice all original 1978 Lincoln Continental Town Car, owned by my uncle, who has about 20 cars. Almost mint condition and straight out of the disco era, complete with the AM/FM 8-track/CB (he even had a huge collection of tapes to go with it, lol.) and 460 ci. (7.5L) V-8. I finally got the cash together and went to get it expecting to drive it home today, but when I got there I found out that some kids had decided to spend a recent snow day trespassing my uncles property and vandalizing about a dozen of his vehicles, including the aforementioned Lincoln, ugh...X(
I guess I got lucky though, compared to the rest of the cars they were rather gentle on the Lincoln, all they did to it was tear up the dash, smash the 8-track (I guess the was a statement of their opinion on 8-tracks) and tear up the steering wheel, ripped the padding and horn button out. But this was light damage compared to what they did to the other cars, smashed windows, broken head and tail lights, they took a sledge hammer to a few of the cars bodies, and even stuck a chain saw through the windshield of one of his trucks...
In all they did over $20,000 worth of damage, but the good news is that the stupid fucks walked there, in the snow and my uncle and his two sons were able to fallow the footprints in the snow around the lake and right up to the little bastards back door...:thumbs up:
And even better for me, since my uncle is in the auto salvage business, he's able to repair most of the damage to the Lincoln and will have it to me by Wednesday, at a $200 discount, because it's no longer all original... But, I doubt he will be able to replace that 8-track...
