I have collected over 100gb of videos over the last year, some of which I got from other places and haven't seen posted here.

I have premium accounts with rapidshare, filesonic, and oron. My download speed is always reasonably fast. But my upload speed sucks. I have noticed that some people post loads of videos on here really fast.. how do they do it? Is there a way to make my upload speed faster? Right now it is averaging around 20kb/s to 50kb/s... so it is pretty awful.

most of the people uses remote upload. and some file hosts just offer their members the content (I don't know which ones, that might be just a rumour).

Many Internet providers have a much slower upload speed than download (especially cable services). So the problem may not be with the file share service, but getting the stuff piped out of your house.

Hi Boogieman... Topdog is right, upload speeds are always much slower than download speed. Google for a "broadband speed checker" and you can test for download and upload speeds on your broadband connection.

Sorry for taking a while to respond.

My download speed is 1136kb/s, but my upload speed is just 156kb/s. And I assume those are the maximums, because my download speed is usually around 500-800kb/s, but does reach over 1000kb/s every now and again. My upload speed is always really poor though. I guess I could try uploading something and then leaving my laptop running, but I usually only get around 20-50kb/s so it will take a long time just for one video. Hmm

Yeah.. that looks to be in the same sort of ratio as me.. just done a test and got a d/load of 1968 Kbps and upload of 456 Kbps.. you could try uploading at quieter times of the day when your ISP has less traffic

With MediaFire I get like 2-3 megabit upload speeds but my download is usually like 100-300 Kbs

You may want to call your ISP and see if they have any deals on packages with better bandwidth. I did that a few months ago and got 4 times the upload speed than I had and $20 off my bill. Well worth investigating.
