How much pity, none at all.
How much compassion - lots! I regularly buy food for hungry people, and (non-alcoholic) beverages for ones who thirst. I've given clothing, literally off my back, to people in need and have spent many hours delivering warm blankets and sleeping bags to homeless street people in winter. However, all that just makes me an average human, no special angel.
I have alot to give, i empathize with the poor but i wouldn't give money away. I've been in alot of situations where i experienced selfish people which raises the question as to why i go so far to people when they don't do the same. All in all, i'm a nice guy and i'd help as much as i can
