Inserting Sub-Titles

Can somebody tell me how to integrate the sub title folder with the movie file(after extracting from the rar files)
When removing all I have done in the past is separate them,but how do you insert it?

It will depend on the player you use. I use VLC and you can literally drag and drop the subtitle file onto the player.

for recognition by vlc (and perian for quicktime/mac) make sure the title of the movie file and sub file are exactly the same, eg

goldilocks.avi
goldilocks.srt (or .sub)

if they are both in the same folder each player will detect the subs and play automatically. to play without subs, remove them from folder
