This news article caught my eye:

Iran’s Supreme Leader: Jihad Will Continue Until America is No More
The Daily Caller 1 hour ago

Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, all but said on Sunday that negotiations over the country’s illicit nuclear program are over and that the Islamic Republic’s ideals include destroying America.

“Those (Iranians) who want to promote negotiation and surrender to the oppressors and blame the Islamic Republic as a warmonger in reality commit treason,” Khamenei told a meeting of members of parliament, according to the regime’s Fars News Agency.

Khamenei emphasized that without a combative mindset, the regime cannot reach its higher Islamic role against the “oppressors’ front.”

“The reason for continuation of this battle is not the warmongering of the Islamic Republic. Logic and reason command that for Iran, in order to pass through a region full of pirates, needs to arm itself and must have the capability to defend itself,” he said.

“Today’s world is full of thieves and plunderers of human honor, dignity and morality who are equipped with knowledge, wealth and power, and under the pretence of humanity easily commit crimes and betray human ideals and start wars in different parts of the world.”

In response to a question by a parliamentarian on how long this battle will continue, Khamenei said,“Battle and jihad are endless because evil and its front continue to exist. … This battle will only end when the society can get rid of the oppressors’ front with America at the head of it, which has expanded its claws on human mind, body and thought. … This requires a difficult and lengthy struggle and need for great strides.”

Khamenei cited the scientific advancement of the country. “The accelerated scientific advancement of the last 12 years cannot stop under any circumstances,” he said, referring to the strides the regime has made toward becoming a nuclear power.

As reported on May 19 on The Daily Caller, Iran has put up new roadblocks to reaching a deal with the P5+1 world powers over its illicit nuclear program. The powers are the permanent members of the U.N. Security Council, plus Germany.

Three days of negotiations in the fourth round of Geneva meetings ended recently without concrete results when the Iranian team presented the country’s new “red lines” — diminishing any hope by the Obama administration to claim victory in its approach to Iran’s nuclear ambitions, according to reports from Iran.

The Obama administration had hoped that with Iranian President Hassan Rouhani and Foreign Minister Javad Zarif showing an eagerness to solve the nuclear issue and address the West’s concerns, there would be a possibility for a negotiated solution. An interim agreement penned last November in Geneva was touted as a “historic nuclear deal.”

Under that agreement, Iran, in return for billions of dollars in sanctions relief, limited its enrichment activity to the 5 percent level with a current stockpile of over 10 tons (enough for six nuclear bombs), converted much of its 20 percent enriched stock to harmless oxide and agreed to allow more intrusive inspections of its nuclear plants by the International Atomic Energy Agency, whose inspections were limited to only agreed-upon facilities.

The Iranian delegation last week presented new red lines that could not be crossed, including the expansion of the country’s research and development for its nuclear program, the need of the country to continue enrichment, and the fact that the country’s ballistic missile program — despite U.N. sanctions — is not up for negotiation.

At the same time, IAEA officials met again with their Iranian counterparts last week in Tehran to discuss information on the work on detonators and needed collaboration by the regime to clear outstanding issues on its nuclear program as part of seven transparency steps Iran had agreed to fulfill by May 15, which has yet to take place.

When I read this my mind turned to another news story this week about Russia signing a contract to build 8 new nuclear reactors in Iran.

I am not paranoid. There is a very real risk of a war that will end civilization as we know it.

Iran, Russia, neither are to be trusted. Muslims are intent on taking over the world or destroying it.

That makes as much sense as saying "Jews are intent on taking over the world and destroying it." (Or instead of Jews, insert your own social prejudice in its place.)

Now, if you want to substitute "Humans" in that statement and cast our species as the major threat to the world, then I think you've got a talking point.

I think Russia and China should spread THEIR brand of 'Freedom and Democracy' across the globe then let's see how those who are so quick to spit on America react to the Russia/China 'track record' of 'freedom and demoracy' - oh wait, they won't speak out at all for fear of arrest or disappearing without a trace.

America has been good for the world and it's done some terrible things too but nothing to compare to China OR Russia in the past and just wait until America is no longer able to keep those two from invading and expanding their empires at will.

I'm assuming some of the members on GayHeaven are indeed Gay. I cannot wrap my mind around HOW Gay men can be so brainwashed as to support totalitarian regimes who have outlawed homosexuality and are complacent with and in fact forces a population who has no fear of attacking verbally and physically in very violent ways the weakest of their society - the homosexuals - among other groups like the handicapped or ethnic minorities. Think for yourselves. Stand up for yourselves. Don't cow tow to those who want to eradicate you. Grow a pair.

Europe and Asia should brace for the inevitable - to be conquered by China, Russia or both.

And another thing, you think Christians are bad? You think the Inquisition was bad? Just wait. Islam is the most dangerous and horrific cult on the planet. They are not secretive about it. They openly say the Jihad against the infidels (anyone who isn't a card carrying nutjob under the mind control of Islam) will not stop until the entire world is under Sharia law.

IRAN's ruling council repeats that battle cry over and over again.

Israel knows all to well what Islam's plan is and I'm betting Israel won't wait for IRAN to nuke Israel. They will take the battle to IRAN first.

:)

Why is the world so full of hate?

If it's not a disagreement over religion, it's sex, or cultures, or political views, or just an opposing opinion. And for that, people want to kill you?

Can you imagine this world if we all got along and spent our time, resources improving they different ways we live?

I think way too many people thrive on hate and it scares me and saddens me.

:)

A thermonuclear war would be a disaster for everyone. I read somewhere that if even 1% of either the US or Russian Fed's nuclear weapons were used, it would be followed by years of freezing temperatures (planet-wide). Billions would die. Not sure how many nuclear missiles Israel has... but suffice it to say we should all hope they never go that unthinkable route.

I've yet to see Iran do anything at all to the U.S. Meanwhile the US government staged a coup against the Iranian democracy in the 1950's on behalf of BP, because the government was trying to use their countries oil welath to benefit their people instead of a British corporation. Then the U.S. secretly funded both sides of the Iraq/Iran war, hoping they'd just kill each other, then the US shot down a plane of ordinary Iranian civilians and refused to apologize about it. And now the U.S. yet again is punishing ordinary Iranian people by imposing sanctions--similar to the ones which killed over a million Iraqi children in the 1990's. So who is the agressor?

Iran has no nuclear weapons program, and their government sucks (but no worse then plenty of US allies), and they correctly oppose the Israeli occupations of Palestine and violence towards the Palestinian people. They don't attack the US, they just hold different views and objectives. So really, there is no jihad, and anyone who thinks there is one should get a life.

ritsuka... did you bother to read the article in the original post of this thread? Apparently you missed this part:

In response to a question by a parliamentarian on how long this battle will continue, Khamenei said,“Battle and jihad are endless because evil and its front continue to exist. … This battle will only end when the society can get rid of the oppressors’ front with America at the head of it, which has expanded its claws on human mind, body and thought. … This requires a difficult and lengthy struggle and need for great strides.”

Do me a favor and read the article, please :) It's not an editorial it is a report about a Q&A session that followed a speech given by Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. It was not me stating my opinion.

It's easy for you to hate America. Many people blame America for all the ills of the world. It's just the way it is :)
