Some of the rural areas may be, but Winnipeg generally isn't. The city elected and re-elected an openly gay mayor.

I think this has more to do with the Royal Winnipeg Ballet wanting to maintain a certain image. They are an internationally renowned organization and they probably feel they have an image to upkeep (I'm speculating here).

I don't necessarily agree with the decision, just offering an explanation.

To perhaps be fair to the school, most such institutions have a clause in their contracts with students that they shall not make any paid public appearances during their studies, unless under the auspices of the school. It may not have anything to do with the content of the videos, but may simply be that he got paid for doing them.

I'm almost certain you're correct ! Royal Winnipeg Ballet isn't the only performing arts school in the world with a clause that their students shall not make paid public appearences during their studies, just like noiraud stated.

So in other words - the whole world isn't spinning around religious homophobia...

What a shame. I really enjoyed those videos of his that I have seen but it appears that
his naviety has cost him a promising career.
