I was out looking for work thursday..i started a new business, shampooing carpets:)

and i knocked on a ladies door..she had some carpet that needed cleaning, but her husband was in hospital and was going to die tomorrow:( (he was on life support and the family was going to turn it off on Friday)

Her daughter was there with her, and the rest of the family was coming in town in the next few days..for the funeral:(

he has been on life support for a week...so plans were made for the family to arrive..

but this is the thing: she was worried that the family would look at the carpet and think she kept a bad house:( so they wanted me to clean it...

so i did, but it was weird, as I'm working on it, there in the next room deciding what to bury him in...

he was from Scotland and they had immigrated to America in the 50S, he was a war hero, he was decorated:)

sooo i made the carpet look as good as i could for them, but it was so weird to be there at that time...I didnt know what to say at the end:worried:

i said my condolences..but he wasn't dead yet:(

I'm sure you handled it very well, but I'd have felt as awkward as you did.

Doubt anyone with any kind of heart would have not felt similar.

it was very strange...but they were both sooooo coool..i know thats not something i should say at this time...but they were so genuine:)

I am happy that i got a chance to see them at that point in life:) i just wish i could have met the father...he seems like a cool guy, he didnt take his shoes off in the house:p and was a handy man, made things with his hands:)

That would be very uncomfortable situation.
Obviously a job like that creates noise, and at a time like
that, you don't want make noise that might disturb the family.
