I was out looking for work thursday..i started a new business, shampooing carpets
and i knocked on a ladies door..she had some carpet that needed cleaning, but her husband was in hospital and was going to die tomorrow (he was on life support and the family was going to turn it off on Friday)
Her daughter was there with her, and the rest of the family was coming in town in the next few days..for the funeral
he has been on life support for a week...so plans were made for the family to arrive..
but this is the thing: she was worried that the family would look at the carpet and think she kept a bad house so they wanted me to clean it...
so i did, but it was weird, as I'm working on it, there in the next room deciding what to bury him in...
he was from Scotland and they had immigrated to America in the 50S, he was a war hero, he was decorated
sooo i made the carpet look as good as i could for them, but it was so weird to be there at that time...I didnt know what to say at the end:worried:
i said my condolences..but he wasn't dead yet
