Axe Johnny
I wonder if JB’s supposed counteroffer (“I’ll do it for 20 million”) is true? Sounds like something a savvy manager might come up with. It avoids a response like “C’mon, tards, I’m not the fruits,” which might alienate part of his gay fan base---and since his net worth went from squat to $200 mil in about 5 years (and will likely reach $1 bil by age 30-35), the counteroffer, if it’s really authentic, would expose Men.com (and every other porn studio of any sort) as way out of its league regarding the affordability issue. Obviously, the first question everyone will ask is, “Why should he jeopardize the earning potential he already has unless the compensation is somewhere in his league?” That would actually mean offering him something more like $50 mil, or even $100 mil or more, to make it worth his while. But a counteroffer that high would also make such a vid absurdly impossible, considering porn studios’ capital reserves, which are probably fairly unimpressive. And that would take away any credibility the counteroffer might have. Counteroffering $20 mil sorta sounds like a tease (“Hey, I might be gay, or gay-for-pay, but you got the price way wrong”). Conclusion? The $20 counteroffer preserves JB’s entire fan base (or at least spares him from offending any part of it) and exposes the original offer as a publicity stunt or whatever while ensuring that he’ll never have to jeopardize his earning potential by taking such a risk.
An even more protective manager with an even better sense of humor might up the counteroffer to $20 mil for a simple mutual jackoff vid plus 60% profit-sharing for JB. In fact, axe Johnny Rapid altogether. He looks used up here, which makes the original offer seem totally unserious, which it probably is anyway. JB can make the vid himself with a buddy he’d actually like to watch porn and jerk off with, then take 100% of the profits.
This stunt also tests the cultural waters floating around out there. It asks the question, “Is the public ready for a major star to make a porn vid that would actually sell and make a huge (or fairly huge) profit without jeopardizing his earning potential in any way or form?” I doubt the public at large is ready for that, but the day might be coming when such a thing could happen. In a way, it would be nice if some film stars, for instance, were cast based on how well their solo audition goes (and how well it sells). In other words, the porn and mainstream movie industries could merge. That could be a lotta fun and infuse the acting industry with a lot better looking people.
