I think it can be useful and enlightening to look at the statistics concerning how many members who make more posts than the absolute minimum necessary to not get kicked out of the forum there are, and the very simple truth is this: Active posters are a tiny-winy minority.
Some of us active posters put in a lot of work into this forum, and I find the idea that we should bend over for some kind of abstract ideal of total freedom meaning that no one should be "forced" to push the Thanks-button patently absurd. NOT a bad idea, but a patently absurd idea.
GH just like any other net forum exists in a SOCIAL context, inside a social community, and any idea of total freedom is just absurd in any kind of social community.
